Muitos candidatos foram barrados pelos tribunais regionais nas eleições de 2012, embora pudessem recorrer ao Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE). Os nomes barrados pelos TREs apareceram nas urnas eletrônicas normalmente, no entanto todos os seus votos ficaram considerados subjudice. Esse foi o caso de Lídio Ledesma, de
Iguatemi, que foi barrado pela Lei da Ficha Limpa no TRE-MS. Dizem que ele pretende vltar à política, para disputar a eleição em Iguatemi, neste ano.
